Last week we did our Recce for Landscape Legends Workshop being held in Denmark WA next week, 9-12 March.  Such a beautiful place.  Here's a grabshot taken with my compact camera - just one of many fab spots.  A taste of things to come ...

Not long to wait now before we set off for Denmark (Western Australia) for our next Landscape Legends photography workshop.  I can't wait.  It's some of WA's most beautiful coastline.  This pic was taken just outside nearby Albany last year.  See older blogs for other pics taken last year.

Do you love elephants?

I've been re-visiting some of my Sri Lanka images and want to share some of my faves. I was sitting on a large rock to take some of these pics and, while I was shooting, the big mama with her trunk extended up towards me, kept coming up to stroke me on my arm with her trunk.  All she wanted me to do was stop taking photographs and stroke her for a while.  Then she'd wander off, only to return a little while later to do the same thing.  Quite an amazing experience.   This cute babe is just 25 days old.  Have a look at a brief slideshow of some of my elephants here.

Making Memories - Photographing your children (follow-up)

We had a great group last night - about 30 people, and all levels of skill - which challenged me in my presentation, as I was originally advised, and prepared for, beginners!  Still, it kept me on my toes and thinking on my feet and I was encouraged by the number of questions from the floor - I love audience participation.  I really enjoyed the evening and, according to feedback from the participants, they did too.  Here's another photo I used in my slideshow at the end of the evening...

So, you want to be a professional photographer?

Workshop Camera Club invited me to talk about my photography business.  "What, you want me to tell you in an hour, what I spend 8-18 hours a day doing...!!??"  Actually, I enjoyed it and a number of people related to my approach to photography, life, travel and children - and perhaps some even related to my approach to business as well... ummmm... on second thoughts... probably not that!  The talk went well and was followed by a couple of short slideshows.  Choc mud cake was a big bonus during the socialising afterwards!
