Say Farewell to St Claire's Falls

Here's a tragedy...  The new dam being built at St Claire's Falls means the end of one of Sri Lanka's most famous waterfalls - I've been told they will disappear altogether once the dam is finished!  As I love waterfalls and mountains, I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to visit them - a couple of times.  But I certainly will be sad to miss them the next time I visit the beautiful Island of Sri Lanka.

Christchurch Cathedral

A beautiful city, so badly damaged and so many lives destroyed in the recent earthquakes, my heart went out to the people of Christchurch - one of my most favourite cities.

As I will always remember it - Christchurch Cathedral 2009

This is my first posting ...

I love photographing waves
Hmmmm... weird joining the ranks of the social networkers... another thing to get my head around.  Here are a couple of pics which probably say more about me than words can.   Never am I happier than when I have my camera in my hand, the adrenalin starts to pump and the earth moves under my feet!  What a rush!

This photo of me was taken by David Sargeant - it looks more dangerous than it really was!
